John’s diverse background has been an asset in relating to people of the church. He was born (1955) and raised in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Baptized in the Conservative Baptist church, he grew up in the Christian and Missionary Alliance church and in the “Jesus People” renewal. He holds a B. S. degree in Mathematics and Physics from Oral Roberts University and a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 1982.
The Ficketts ministered in Oklahoma, Massachusetts, New Mexico and Pennsylvania before responding to a call from Wisconsin. John also served as an administrator and faculty member of Albuquerque Bible College.
John is presently Senior Pastor of New Vision Brethren in Christ Church, Pewaukee, WI. He serves as Assistant Director of Roxbury Holiness Camp and is a member of the BIC board for world missions.
In addition to serving as a conference/seminar/retreat speaker, he enjoys leading worship with guitar, singing in music groups, graphic design and fine art, working with computers, writing, camping and backpacking. (He also acknowledges that some of these things are in danger of becoming distant memories!)
John is married to Toni and their children (age 12-26) are: Micah, Nathanael, Gabriel, Judah, Seth, Asher and Baruch.
Craig Sipes is the current pastor in Morrison BIC. He recently moved to Morrison, Il from Apple Valley Ca. where he pastored an independent church and worked as a contractor building and remodeling homes. He has been a youth pastor and singles pastor as well in Ontario Ca. he is married to his high school sweetheart and wife of 31 years, Kathi. they have 5 children and two grandchildren. Craig has also been a high school waterpolo and swimming coach for both boys and girls for many years befors relocating to Illinois. He has also led many trips with Brethren in Christ churches in California to Mexico to build loft-houses for the extremely impoverished. Craig hopes thruogh his teaching to inspire others to live adventurous ordinary lives as they live by faith in christ following His Spirit's lead.
